With WiseOceans Academy
WiseOceans Academy has been delivering marine education across the world, both virtually and in person, for over ten years. During this time, we have reached over 11,000 students and teachers in 37 countries! Our lessons are delivered by expert marine biologists and conservationists who are also experienced educators. Lessons engage, educate, and inspire, focusing on the wonder of our oceans and the positive steps we can all take to help them. Our flagship course, the Ocean Explorers Club is aimed at children between 7 and 12 years old and delivered virtually, so no matter where you are in the world, if you have an internet connection you can join!
Ever wondered about life under the ocean?
Perhaps you’ve never really thought about it, or maybe you are already a budding marine biologist with a passion for sharks or squid! Well, let us introduce you to our Ocean Explorers club.
There is so much to discover and so much to learn!
How do dolphins sleep? What is a baby turtle called? How do octopuses blend in, in the blink of an eye? Why are coral reefs called the nurseries of the sea?
Over the course of eighteen weeks, our Ocean Explorers club dives into different animals and habitats all around the world’s oceans. Each week is jam packed with inspiring images, videos and facts.
In some classes, we will focus on specific marine animals such as whales and penguins. In others, we will explore wider groups of animals like cephalopods (octopuses, squid, cuttlefish and nautilus) or we will look at specific ecosystems like coral reefs and the deep sea.
Every class stands alone, so you can dip in and out for a week at a time or stay with us for the full cycle and become a fully-fledged Ocean Explorer!
