The diversity of Seychelles’ marine life is truly astonishing and is a fantastic tool for inspiring passion for our oceans. Established in 2012, the Marine Discovery Programme has interacted with over 20,000 resort guests. The programme has now evolved in 2026 to focus exclusively on the Coral Reef Restoration Project, with WiseOceans contributing extensive conservation expertise to support its long-term success.

Reef Restoration

The Petite Anse Reef Restoration Project was launched in 2015 and is an innovative approach to coral reef restoration. Born of a desire to return the Petite Anse reef to the thriving ecosystem that it once was.

Through this project, alongside Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, we have already:

Regenerated 5,000 sqm of degraded coral reef
Grown over 7,000 coral colonies in our nurseries
Conducted over 1,200 coral health and biodiversity surveys
Increased fish diversity by 30%

With our continued work at Petite Anse we aim to restore 10,000 sqm. of limestone reef through the transplantation of 16,000 coral reef fragments.
