Our work centres around project design and development, and programme, and partnership implementation as well as management concerning marine conservation, including coral reefs and their associated ecosystems, across local, regional, and international scales.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join our team as a Project Officer. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of our projects, involving technical tasks, supportive activities, and communications. This position offers an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with entry-level experience in marine policy, coral reef conservation, and related fields.

We are looking for a driven individual who is fluent in English and has a background in marine conservation and policy with additional interest or experience in communication and developing outreach material.

The role is based at Blue Pangolin Consulting’s London office (SW14). The candidate will, ideally, be based in London, or within commutable distance to the office, however, remote positions within the UK will be considered.

  • Assist in the execution of various projects, including sourcing information, review and development of content, and report writing.
  • Support the development and implementation of marine conservation projects and support policy-related tasks (on national, regional, and international scales).
  • Contribute to the creation of engaging content for communication materials, including social media (X/Twitter, LinkedIn), articles, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with team members to organise events, workshops, and outreach activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in environmental science, marine biology, conservation, policy, or a related field.
  • Knowledge or experience in marine policy, including the Global Biodiversity Framework, the BBNJ agreement, and other relevant Multilateral Environmental Agreements.
  • Familiarity with coral reefs and associated ecosystems, marine protected areas, and marine spatial planning.
  • Communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively to diverse audiences, experience in creating engaging content through various media channels is desirable.
  • A keen interest in marine conservation and environmental sustainability.
