To celebrate our 5 year anniversary at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, we wanted to take a look back on a few of the many incredible things we have achieved together!
Taking thousands (over 3,000 in fact!) of resort guests on guided snorkels to learn more about the fascinating life on the reef right here in Petite Anse
Inspiring the next generation of marine biologists through our kids club activities and sessions around the picnic table
Getting involved in community events around the island such as the annual Seychelles Sea Turtle Festival
Spreading the word about the marine life around the island with the local children through our marine education programme at Baie Lazare Primary School
Getting stuck into celebratory periods at the resort with all sorts of educational marine themed fun and games over special holidays (Festive and Easter etc…)
The birth of our Reef Restoration Project!
Continuously monitoring the marine life in the bay through various surveys. Helping to take care of our beautiful stretch of sand with beach profiling monitoring surveys and beach clean ups.
Helping out young turtle hatchlings in need of a push in the right direction. Monitoring the beach for signs of any nesting turtles and helping out when we came across a nest in need…
Getting resort staff involved and interested in their local marine life through staff training sessions, lots of internal communication and staff snorkels
WiseOceans and Four Seasons Resort Seychelles signed a memorandum of understanding with the Seychelles Ministry of Energy and Environment meaning we could start contributing valuable data into a national database and continue to strive for the conservation of our reef!
Celebrating the many awareness days such as World Oceans Day to help spread their message around the world
Spreading the word about our work further afield through various media articles, appearances and through our monthly and quarterly newsletters, developed and produced by our resort team
Out of water marine education and the creation of our very own marine life photobook and guide to the marine life of Petite Anse!
Hosting several future conservationists and giving them a taste of life working in the field through our work experience and internship programmes
We’ve come a long way in five years and we can now be found in our lovely Coral Cabana and at our marine education picnic table right on the seashore, where we continue to work together, spreading the word about the value of marine life for a better future for our oceans.
Keep up with all the resort based activities we have going on here by following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Now it’s celebration time!
